Scripts are a great way to help speakers stay on track with the message they want to convey. The following article will help with better script writing and organization for filming.

Best practices

  • one script per video

  • 120 words = approx 1 min

  • scripts should be a max 700 words or 5 mins per video

Naming Convention

  • Folder:

    • MDS 492 scripts

  • Scripts:

    • Course Introduction

    • Module 01 - Writing Proposal #1

    • Module 02 - Journal Reflection #2

Equipment used

(2) iPads - One for mirroring and one for remote connection. Apps below are installed on both iPads:

(1) Glide Gear iPad Teleprompter

(1) Manfrotto Tripod

(1) Canon C100 Camera

The easiest way to work with teleprompted scripts is by utilizing 2 iPads—one iPad that will sit in the stand using the Promptsmart Pro app (A) and one iPad using the Promptsmart Remote Control app (B). You can still utilize voice tracking from A and follow along using B. Should you need to backup at any time you can use B remotely to scroll to the appropriate script location.
