This page provides one example of instructions that can be used or adapted for your online course using Loom.

For this example assignment, it is recommended that you use the cloud-based technology called Loom to record your presentation. Loom is user-friendly, and, in addition to recording video, it can also be used for “picture-in-picture” screencasts where you are required to show both your slides and yourself at the same time.

Here are some of the features of Loom’s free service that make it an excellent option:

To get started, do the following:

Step 01. Go to to the Loom website.

Step 02. Click “Get Loom for Free”.

Step 03. Click “Sign up with Google” and then use your Boise State email account and credentials to log in.

Step 04. Agree to the user agreement.

Step 05. You will be prompted to download the recording app; download the application for Mac or PC or Install the Chrome extension, depending on the system you are using.

Step 06. After you install the app on your computer, view Loom’s Getting Started page for more information on how to use the service. You can also search the page for other tutorials, such as how to share a video you’ve recorded.

Step 07. Practice recording. You will use the app you downloaded to make your recordings, which will save directly to the cloud. You can then manage your video files and settings for your videos from the My Videos page.
