YouTube Example and Accessibility Text

The example below details the eCampus Quality standards for accessibility text that accompanies YouTube videos. Accessibility text may differ depending on the video platform used in the course. See "Additional Resources" for examples of accessibility text for other video platforms.

Standard Accessibility Text for YouTube Videos

Above the video:

Click the Play icon to begin.

Below the video:

If the video above doesn't appear, follow this direct link: Title of the Video (XX:XX min.)

Start the video to access more options in the video frame. To display the video captions, click CC. To expand the video, click the Full Screen icon. To navigate the video using the transcript, click the YouTube logo, select ...More, then Transcript.

Accessibility Text for When YouTube Videos Have In-Screen Captions

Above the video:

Click the Play icon to begin.

Below the video:

Start the video to access more options in the video frame. Please note that the video captions are included directly in the video, instead of using the YouTube CC function.

To expand the video, click the Full Screen icon.
