Video Collaboration Process

  • Vetting will review your powerpoint before you record video with it

  • Faculty records a 00:30 sec test to be reviewed by MMD

  • Create videos as you collaborate with IDC to create the modules

  • Send videos to MM team as you record them

  • MP4 format

  • We won’t be able to use your YouTube or Panopto links as source files, these must be actual MP4

Video Recording Tips

  • If you mess up in the tape, don’t pause the video—just pause in talking, clap to create a sound pop so the mess up is easy to identify by the editor, then repeat the sentence and keep going.

  • Use a microphone if you can. 

  • Record in a carpeted room with soft furniture if possible.

  • Face a window for better light on your face but watch out for over-exposure

  • Don’t record with a bright window behind you

Video Presentation Tools

Powerpoint

  • PowerPoint files emailed to eCampus Vetting for copyright check before recording

  • Format the presentation as wide screen for video

  • You can use Powerpoint or Google Slides

Panopto 

  • Platform for sharing video in courses

  • Allows for word search of transcripts and presentations

  • Allows us to keep the same link if a video is updated, so the link doesn’t have to be updated in the course

    1. We recommend coming into our studio if this is your first time working with us for a 1-on-1 session with an MMD on producing better DIY videos
