How long does it take the multimedia team to help me with my course?

Please note that these times are estimates and can vary with each project. Our examples links will give you additional insights and hours needed to complete each project.

3D Models

Banners/Course Cards

Examples

All program banner designs are created with program/department heads and establish templates for all their course banners. Changes to the design of this template require the same process plus changing all subsequent course banners.

New Banner Design Template:

• 1st draft: 1+ hrs

• Each revision round: 1+ hrs

Program Update / Redesign:

• 1st draft: 1+ hrs

Graphics

Video services

Our full-video service option typically includes help with scripts, in-studio filming, editing, graphics, and Panopto prep for (7) 5-min videos or up to 40-mins worth of video content for a 7-week course. Along the way, we will correspond with instructors to review our work for things like scripts, lower-thirds (instructor name and title graphic), and possible images or graphics instructors want to be included in their videos. We will then notify instructors for a final review of all videos and to note any timestamps for corrections that may need to be made. Once final approval is given the Copyright and Accessibility Team is then notified to caption videos.

• Total time = 70+ hrs

  • Scripts 3-4 hrs

  • Filming 3-4 hrs

  • Editing 20+ hrs

  • Graphics 40+ hrs (lower third, stock images, text-callouts, bumpers)

  • Panopto 4 hours

A la cart options

Editing

• 1 hr per min of video

• This process consists of the following:

  • transferring RAW footage

  • creating Premiere Team Project

  • color correction

  • audio cleanup

  • sequence builds

  • cutting

  • final rendering

Filming

Most filming will take place at the eCampus Center Multimedia Room of the Ron and Linda Yanke Research Center. Other accommodations can be made if needed to film in other locations.

• Scripted videos:

  • Scripts: 4 hrs (120 words = approx 1 min of video)

  • Filming: 4 hrs (filming of up to 60 mins worth of video content)

• Non-scripted videos:

  • 4 hrs (filming of up to 60 mins worth of video content)

Graphics

• 1 hr per minute of video for simple stock image additions

• 30 mins per text callout (indicated by instructors in the script or with timestamps for video)

Faculty created Panopto videos

• 2-3 hours per course

• Videos created by faculty in Panopto, Multimedia team moves to ecampusvideo folder, bumper added and sent to Copyright and Accessibility Team for captioning
