Before you get started using Panopto to record videos for your course, it’s important to organize content in a way that will make everyone’s life easier. The following article guides you through just how to do that.

Step 1 - Create A Shared Folder

In order for eCampus Center to help with Panopto videos, you must first create a shared folder and share ‘Creator’ access to it using the following steps:

1. Log in to Panopto with your Boise State credentials

2. Click My Folder in the left-hand nav

3. Click Add folder, title it ‘Course Videos’, and hit enter

4. Click the newly created Course Videos folder

5. Click the share icon in the top-right corner

6. Under People and groups, click the ‘Change’ link

7. Click the Stop Inheriting button

8. Under People and groups, type ‘ecampusvideo’, and click the suggested link that appears

7. Click Viewer, change to Creator, add an optional message, and click Send

8. You should now see eCampus Video listed with Creator access.

9. For making videos available to view in courses you’ll want to adjust Who can access this folder by clicking the ‘Change’ link.

10. Select Public (unlisted) and click ‘Save’

11. Close the Share settings window by clicking the X in the upper-right corner

12. Now click Add Folder again and give it a specific course title (e.g. ART 100)

13. You now have a course folder to house videos eCampus Center can help with. All folders added here will inherit the same permissions going forward.

14. For making videos available to view in courses you’ll want to adjust Who can access this folder by clicking the ‘Change’ link.

15. Select Public (unlisted) and click ‘Save’

16. Your folder is now set for creating additional folders or videos that will be ready for your course(s).

Step 2 - Create or Move Panopto Videos

Now that you have created your shared ‘Course Videos' folder you have 2 options:

a. Create Panopto Videos in the appropriate course folder

b. https://boisestateecampus.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/JFS/pages/1495367726/Moving+Panopto+Videos to the appropriate course folder

Videos will automatically inherit the permissions you’ve set for the ‘Course Videos’ folder
