The Creative Brief is integrated into the bottom of Course Blueprints and is used to keep track of any multimedia deliverables utilizing an eCampus Center Multimedia Developer. The Creative Brief allows project team members to more easily and efficiently communicate information specific to multimedia for courses, defining the what, where, and when. It is also a useful reference for future requests.

Benefits of the Creative Brief in the Blueprint

  • Easier communication and search functionality

  • Succinct record of expectations

  • One location for all Multimedia Team deliverables

  • Answers to questions like:

    • What should the title of videos be and where do they belong in the course?

    • Where are the final links to this course and are they ready for the course?

    • What is/did the Multimedia Team work on for this course?

Creative Brief and the Blueprint

The Creative Brief is integrated into the Blueprint and provides a specific place for all parties to be able to view and keep track of all the media content the MMD’s are working on for that course.

Who Uses the Creative Brief?

MMDs primarily and instructors will be the ones providing information in this section. Other Development Team members will also be able to access and contribute as needed.

Working in the Creative Brief?

Only media items requiring MMD help should be added to Creative Brief

  1. First, MMD will meet with IDC and Instructor early in the development process to clarify expectations and define multimedia deliverables needing help and MMD will add those to the Creative Brief along with meeting notes, and deadlines.

  2. As the faculty generates the original content to be worked on, they can add the original links in the creative brief and tag or email the MMD that they are ready to work on. (During this step, it’s important that the faculty and/or IDC make sure all titles are correct and linked appropriately in the blueprint.)

Creative Brief and the Blueprint

Much like Blueprint documents, a Creative Brief will be used to manage media-specific content. Any information received outside of this doc relevant to course media will be added to the Creative Brief by MMD for reference. As of July 2022, Creative Briefs are integrated directly into each Blueprint, making it easy to locate and quickly start adding content/links. This will also save time from having to create a new Creative Brief for each course.

MMDs will tag items within the Creative Brief just like a course Blueprint when additional information or action is needed from instructors on multimedia for the course.
