The Multimedia Student Assistant (MSA) works alongside Boise State’s eCampus Center Multimedia Team to create engaging video, graphic, and interactive content for online courses. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative and innovative environment while building a strong portfolio of work.
Department Overview
The eCampus Center is part of Boise State’s Division of Extended Studies, supporting faculty and departments in creating high-quality online learning experiences. Our team specializes in multimedia production, ensuring that online courses are visually compelling, accessible, and engaging for a global audience.
This position directly contributes to the production of media elements that enhance student learning.
Job Details
Location: On-site at the Extended Studies Offices (Ron and Linda Yanke Family Research Park, 220 Parkcenter Blvd, Boise, ID 83706).
Workspace: Computer, software, and equipment provided.
Hours: 20 hours per week during normal business hours (Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM). Scheduling is flexible based on class schedules and project needs.
Pay: $14.50/hour, with opportunity for raises
Essential Job Duties
As a Multimedia Student Assistant, you will:
✅ Create video content – Record, edit, and export videos.
✅ Design visuals – Develop graphics, visual aids, and other digital assets.
✅ Ensure accessibility – Adapt media for all learners.
✅ Collaborate with teams – Work closely with designers, faculty, and stakeholders.
✅ Manage multiple projects – Prioritize and meet deadlines effectively.
✅ Conduct quality checks – Perform usability testing and ensure brand consistency.
✅ Explore new creative tools – Research and implement innovative media techniques.
Required Skills & Qualifications
🎨 Creative & Technical Skills
Graphic design, typography, and video production.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro).
Strong understanding of digital media best practices.
🤝 Collaboration & Communication
Works effectively in a team environment.
Open to constructive feedback and willing to give it.
Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate with stakeholders.
🛠 Problem-Solving & Adaptability
Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies.
Thinks outside the box to improve workflows and solve problems efficiently.
Preferred Experience (Bonus Skills!)
📷 Production & Design Tools
Experience with professional camera equipment, lighting, and audio.
Familiarity with Canon camera systems.
Knowledge of 3D, AR/VR, or animation.
💡 Educational & Web Technologies
Experience with Canvas (LMS).
Exposure to HTML5, CSS3, or interactive media development.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (e.g., equipment setup).
